Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Urlix (the "Service"), operated at www.urlix.be. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

2. What the Service does

Urlix lets you create shortened links that redirect to a destination URL you provide, optionally with "cloaking" (keeping the short link's address visible while the destination loads in an embedded frame), along with click analytics, QR codes, custom domains, and a developer API. Cloaking depends entirely on the destination site allowing itself to be embedded — where it doesn't, the Service falls back to a normal redirect automatically.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at info@urlix.be if you suspect unauthorized access. You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to create or distribute links that:

• Point to phishing pages, malware, or other content intended to deceive or harm visitors.
• Violate any applicable law, or infringe someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Facilitate spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or abusive automated traffic.
• Chain through other URL shorteners in an attempt to evade moderation or abuse detection.
• Contain content that is unlawful, harassing, or sexually exploitative of minors.

We reserve the right to disable any link, suspend any account, and remove any content that we reasonably believe violates this policy, with or without prior notice, and to report illegal content to the relevant authorities. Anyone can report a suspicious link for review from its redirect page.

5. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly cycle through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we don't provide prorated refunds for partial periods, except where required by law. Downgrading or a failed renewal payment may reduce or suspend access to paid-plan features (such as custom domains, password-protected links, or higher API limits) until payment is resolved or you return to a plan that supports them.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and your links working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We may suspend access for maintenance, to investigate abuse, or to comply with a legal request. We are not liable for losses arising from downtime, a cloaking fallback caused by a destination site's own framing restrictions, or content hosted on destination sites we don't control.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, links associated with your account may stop resolving.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Urlix is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including content accessed through a short link you did not create.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.
